A portrait reveals only one secret of whom we are.
In this a series, I do not attempt to represent an accurate description of a visual reality but instead use a process to achieve its effect. This series titled Secret Garden are commissioned portraits.
The process involves the person whom commissions me to take their portrait. They pass on the flowers to me after they have enjoyed their beauty that they either bought or received.
These flowers have had moments from which the owners’ eyes have spoken to them - little sentiments - revealing a secret of whom their caretakers are. Once they pass them to me, I take their flowers and I lay them out along my window sill.
I walk pass them every day until I see the portrait revealed to me of their caretakers.
